:: About Earthian

Earthian Magazine is created to primarily promote the diverse and inspiring impressions of culture and its environment. The Earthian concept is inspired by the natural elements. And like so, each release is a creative and unique reflection of the elements of Earth, Fire, Water, Wood, Metal, and Air. It is by this theme where Earthian creatively grounds itself making it the sole of its kind among other magazines in the Philippines.

In its editorial management, Earthian not so only features notable people and their crafts, but also establishes a shared process with them. Thus producing materials resulting from collaborative energies and concepts between media and its subject. Earthian was released in Manila in January 2000 by a small publishing group aiming to popularise the environmental and cultural survival issues of the times. Packaged in glossy format, the publication was appreciated by a wide audience until the conclusion of its test run in 2001.

The Earthian blog is a tribute to the collaborative effort and generous support of the highly-motivated volunteers, cultural movers, environmental activists, campaigners, visionaries, artists, writers, journalists, contributors, photographers, production staff, sponsors, donors, and friends. Beyond commemorating, however, is the gratitude for the opportunity of collaboration and profound appreciation for the indigenous in all of us.
Henceforth, Earthian revisits and rekindles the three issues it has painstakingly—and beyond all odds—created for its readers to treasure and enjoy.
